Abstract
This document contains the main dimensions for water pump pliers as well as the test values for the gripping pliers to verify their functional capability according to ISO 5744. The general technical requirements are contained in ISO 5743. The water pump grabs shown in this document are provided as examples only and are not intended to limit the manufacturer's design options. International Standard ISO 8976:2021 has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 29/SC 10, "Assembly tools for screws and nuts, pliers and nippers" with the participation of German experts from Standards Committee NA 121 "Tools and Clamping Devices" (FWS) of Working Committee NA 121-05-11 AA "Pliers".
