DIN Standards Committee Fasteners

Overview

This standard specifies requirements for coarse and fine pitch thread low type hexagon cap nuts of product grade A with nominal diameters from 4 mm to 72 mm. After the publication of DIN EN ISO 898-2:2012-08 "Mechanical properties of fasteners made of carbon steel and alloy steel - Part 2: Nuts with specified property classes - Coarse thread and fine pitch thread" (ISO 898-2: 2012); German version EN ISO 898-2: 2012, it was decided in DIN 917 to release the mechanical properties in the technical delivery conditions for steel and stainless steel by agreement, that is to omit the reference to strength classes according to ISO 898-2, as these nuts due to their insufficient thread heights and their manufacturing process do not meet the requirements specified there. The committee responsible for this standard is NA 067-00-03 AA "Verbindungselemente mit metrischem Innengewinde" ("Fasteners with metric internal thread") at the DIN Fasteners Standards Committee (FMV).
