Guidance on how to conduct round robin tests for household and similar electrical appliances (IEC/TR 62970:2016)
Leitfaden zur Durchführung von Ringversuchen für Haushaltsgeräte und ähnliche Elektrogeräte (IEC/TR 62970:2016)
Overview
This Technical Report provides guidance for carrying out round robin tests (RRT) and hence for the determination of levels of repeatability (intra-laboratory variability) and reproducibility (interlaboratory variability) for household and similar electrical appliances. The results of round robin test comparisons are important for: a) identifying differences between laboratories; b) determining the effectiveness and comparability of test or measurement procedures; c) validating (measurement) uncertainties; d) evaluating the performance of laboratories for specific tests or measurements and monitoring the continued performance of laboratories; e) identifying problems in laboratories and triggering improvement actions that may be associated with, for example, inadequate test or measurement procedures, effectiveness of personnel training and supervision, or equipment calibration; f) training participating laboratories based on the results of such round robin test comparisons. The responsible committee is DKE/K 513 "Hausgeräte, Gebrauchseigenschaften" ("Household appliances, performance characteristics") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
