German Standardization Roadmap for Energy Storage published
The newly published German Standardization Roadmap for Energy Storage was presented at the Energy Storage Fair in Düsseldorf in March 2016.
DIN, together with the German Commission for Electrical, Electronic & Information Technologies (DKE), the Society of German Engineers (VDI), and the German Technical and Scientific Association for Gas and Water (DVGW), worked with experts from industry and research to draw up this Roadmap, which gives an overview of standards in five fields of technology:
- Thermal storage
- Electrochemical storage (e.g. batteries)
- Chemical storage (e.g. power-to-gas systems)
- Electrical storage
- Mechanical storage
The Roadmap not only gives guidelines for future standardization projects, it also provides guidance for industry and the public sector in developing energy storage technologies.
The Roadmap is available for free at www.din.de/go/roadmap-energiespeicher (at present only in German).
Because energy storage is a continually developing field, the Roadmap too will be regularly updated with the help of stakeholders and the public. Contact for anyone interested in this work: firstname.lastname@example.org
