Terms and conditions for services requiring registration

DIN e. V. reserves the right to modify these terms and conditions at any time. DIN e. V. also reserves the right to block or delete access to the portal. DIN e. V. may also exercise this right when a registered user (referred to below as "the User") has not logged on to the portal for a longer period of time (at least one year).

The access granted to the User may not be transferred to a third party. The User ensures that he/she will not pass on personal data (password) or make it accessible to a third party.

The User is obligated to use the information provided by the online service(s) solely as intended. The User takes account of the fact that these services contain content protected by copyright, and is thus not authorized to duplicate, distribute, reproduce, make publicly accessible or use this content in any other way without permission.

Any claims on the part of the User for damages are excluded. DIN e. V. is not liable for any damages that may result from the publication or use of the draft standards on the Draft Standards portal, or the terms and definitions on the DIN-TERMinology portal. This does not apply to damages arising from injury to the life, body or health of a person, or where key contractual obligations ("cardinal obligations") are infringed, or to other forms of damage caused by any intentional or grossly negligent dereliction of duty on the part of DIN e.V., its legal representatives or agents. Key contractual obligations are such that need to be fulfilled in order to achieve the aim of the contract. Compensation for infringement of key contractual obligations shall be limited to foreseeable losses typical to the contract, if such damage was caused by ordinary negligence, unless it concerns compensation of the User for damages relating to injury to life, body or health. The above limitations also apply to DIN's legal representatives or agents if claims are made against these directly. The provisions of the Produkthaftungsgesetz (German Product Liability Act) shall remain unaffected.

During system maintenance, use of the online services may be limited. DIN e.V. reserves the right to carry out system maintenance which may make access to the online services temporarily unavailable.

Additional conditions relating to each online service are listed below:

Online Standards Proposal Portal
Proposals for standards work are discussed within the responsible DIN body. The User does not have any rights to a specific result of such discussions, nor to the publication of a DIN Standard or any other result of standards work.

Draft Standards Portal
The sole purpose of the Draft Standards Portals is the review and commenting of draft DIN Standards. Public access to draft standards is provided for this purpose. Because the final version of a standard can deviate from the draft version, the use of a draft standard shall be agreed separately.

DIN-TERMinology Portal
The DIN-TERMinology Portal contains terms and definitions taken from current standards and specifications, draft standards and withdrawn documents. The User has the right to cite the information provided on this portal within the scope of § 51 of the Urheberrechtsgesetz - UrhG (German Copyright Act). The source to be given in accordance with § 63 of the Urheberrechtsgesetz is:  http://www.din-term.din.de/. The User is not granted any rights other than such as are prescribed by law.
