European secretariats held by DIN
In European standardization, over two thirds of all secretariats are held by the three major standards organizations DIN, AFNOR (France) and BSI (United Kingdom). DIN currently (2012) holds 28 % of the European TC/SC secretariats.
DIN staff members running secretariats ensure that the internal rules and guidelines governing European standardization are adhered to. They see to it that meetings of international standards committees and German mirror committees are properly prepared, conducted and followed up. They also carry out formal voting.
