The 2009 DIN awards ceremony
On the 26th of November 2009 around 290 guests gathered in the rotunda of the Eugen-Gutmann-Haus on Berlin's Pariser Platz for the tenth annual "Weltfaktor Normung" (Standardization: A global factor) DIN Prize awards ceremony. This year, the € 15,000 1st prize in DIN's "Benefits of Standardization" competition went to the CVUA Stuttgart - an official food control and animal health laboratory – for its entry on the determination of pesticide residues in foodstuffs. A commemorative speech was held by EC Vice President Günter Verheugen on the "European industrial policy – Successes and challenges for the new Commission".
