Tasks:
- Coordination of the work of the different standards committees of DIN active in the fields of transport, logistics and packaging and advice to DIN on questions of principle related to these fields
- Cooperation with other institutions, especially with institutions involved in the preparation of decrees, rules and guidelines concerning transport, logistics and packaging, and here in particular with the German Ministry of Transport and the Federal Institute for Materials Research and Testing
- Participation in the work of the European Committee of Standards (CEN) in the fields of transport and packaging and reflection of the activities of Working Group 83 Transport of dangerous goods of the Technical Bureau of CEN (CEN/BT/WG 83)
- Coordination of the German participation in international and regional committees of ISO/IEC and CEN/CENELEC dealing with matters concerning the transport chain
- Advice to committees engaged in projects in the frame of research and development phase standardization in the fields of transport, logistics and packaging
